Duck Becomes This Little Boys Protector, Following Him Everywhere

Since Beaker the duck, or Bee, joined the Young family when he was just a little duckling, he became best friends with his little human Tyler. They’re so close that Tyler’s first word was even “duck”!

The Texas household has 11 ducks. “When Tyler was about 9 months old my husband was buying duck food and saw Beaker,” explained Jennifer. “He brought him home and from that day forward he hasn’t left Tyler’s side. If he cries, Bee quacks and runs to him.”

“Bee steals snacks when Tyler isn’t looking, they play outside together, go to the park together, enjoy wagon rides together, and Bee is always supervising bath time,” the mom added. “I never pictured myself having a pet duck that lives inside. But it’s amazing to see these two in action.”

“When Tyler was 9 months old my husband…brought him home and from that day he hasn’t left Tyler’s side”

Theres A Sloth Institute Which Looks After Baby Sloths That Lost Their Moms

Sam Trull, co founder of the Sloth Institute in Costa Rica, has been helping sloths return to the wild since 2013. The Institute has three main goals: 1. RESEARCH of captive and wild sloths; 2. COLLABORATION with other institutions that work with sloths around the world; and 3. EDUCATION to generate and disseminate responsible and balanced information about sloths to the public. Trull is also the author of Slothlove, a book about her beloved sloths.

“I think one of my favorite things about sloths is that they mind their own business,” Trill told the Manhattan Book Review. “I realize that the ‘circle of life’ requires all kinds of species of animals, including mischievous monkeys and carnivorous cats, and no offense to those animals that need to eat other animals to survive. But how can I not be drawn to species that just want to eat their leaves, relax in the sunshine and the breeze and have a good scratch?! In addition, they have a very curious and playful side, something most people have never and will never see, but it is definitely the most endearing thing I have ever seen.”

Human encroachment is a huge threat to sloth populations

Cute Tiny Owl Goes Viral So We Interviewed The Photographer (10 Pics)

After this super adorable photo of an owl hiding from rain took the internet by storm, we decided to reach out to the photographer Tanja Brandt to tell us more about it.

“Poldi, our little owl is 1,5 years old. I got him when he was five months old. He didn’t want to come out his egg and he was very small, the smallest. His six sisters were all hatched, and as he was the last to be born, days after the others, he was very small. I also have a Harris Hawk named Phönix, a Weissgesichtseule named Gandalf, and a snow owl named Uschi,” Tanja Brandt told Bored Panda.

“I think my animals like to be photographed. Why? Because I am always outside with my camera and with my animals. So we get to walk together, have fun, go on adventures, have little breaks… We take some pictures and after the animals can play again as we keep going. I know my animals very well and I can see their state of mind. If I go out with just one of my animals, the other get antsy and want to be with us. We have lot of fun together.”

“I’ve always loved animals, since I was a baby, unlike the rest of my family. When I was little, I found every sort of pet and then hid it for my parents. I love the beauty, power, loyalty, courage and friendship of animals. Many people could learn from them.”

Thank you, Tanja Brandt for the interview and the images!
